The teachers in just a couple of districts forced that shite. Florida has been just fine without a law that restricts what they teach, probably because nobody ever imagined one would be needed. And for a decent society, it shouldn't be needed.
But they were asked to stop by parents, they were asked to stop by the state, and their answer was "make us". So the legislature and the governor granted their request. Now STFU and teach what the state approves, because you've proven you can't be trusted to make decent decisions.
