Ok, I'll admit that Jefferson showed some flashes of good plays, but he was far from great.
Seriously, how many of you wouldn't want to be in his position yesterday? I know I would've loved to. You're already down 2+ scores, you're young and inexperienced, and the fans love you. You aren't expected to do anything great, and you can make mistakes and no one will care (after all, you weren't prepared to be in there).
Being in that situation allows you to throw balls that shouldn't be thrown if the score was tied. It allows you to go out there and play balls out because after all, you can't do any wrong.
Yes, at times he made plays, but the long pass to Lafell... my grandmother could have completed that. The touchdown to Tolliver... if you can't complete a ball on a corner that is turned around and giving up a full foot to the receiver, then you shouldn't play.
But why not wait until the pressure's on before you crown him great? Wait until we face a top ten defense. Why not wait til he has a tie score and has to protect the ball instead of trying to stick that crossing route? What will happen then? We shall all wait and see.
Yesterday, he merely did some things that some quarterbacks are expected to do (and he also didn't do things that are expected of a quarterback). Was it more than what JLee did? Yeah maybe so, but he was still very far from great.

Dude's gotta have blocking by the OL to be able to do anything...

me and my friend counted the seconds the o-line gave him on 4th and 23 before he got blasted.
it was 2.
it was 2.

My point exactly.
I was VERY impressed with JJ, particular his poise and how the team reacted to his ability to make plays.
ANY QB, no matter how good they are, has to have blocking from the OL. That was the worst I have seen our OL play in a LONG time. We really got dominated on boths lines of scrimmage yesterday.
