I spent 26 days in Russia back when Gorbachev was in power. It was the beginning of perestroika. Most of the time I was with members of the Communist party, they were wealthier and had more access to western goods. MTV vhs tapes, western clothes, etc...alcohol was illegal for USSR citizens, the communist had access though. Lots of hot chick's and everyone loved America and Americans.

I think they just limited the times when alcohol could be sold and how much a person could buy.
