Just bought my large Big Green Egg and going to fire it up for the first time. Anyone have any eggperience (sorry, couldn't resist) in using one.
I know I have to use lump charcoal, but what is the best method to light? Any good tips for smoking my first turkey on it?
Many thanx in advance!

My parents have one, and I think it takes a while to get used to. The best thing to do is just play around with it because it can be tough to regulate the heat at first.

Use a chimney to start the coals. Turkey does not smoke well at all. It absorbs too much smoke and overwhelms the flavor. If you are set on smoking it, do not use any hickory chips.

Get the Weber starter cubes to start your fire. Also, use the BGE charcoal.
