My recollection is that it was a solid 2 hour drive. That would be a tough day trip but doable I guess....really wouldn't be much time to experience what Sedona offers. Taking in the scenery and maybe a jeep tour might be doable....but i can't imagine much more than that.

I’ve traveled to Sedona for day trips numerous times over the past several years. Some for just myself to go hiking, some for showing friends or family in town Sedona for the first time. It’s not that bad.
Leave early in the am. Get to Sedona, go see chapel in rock (a must see but you won’t be there long). Stop at scenic spots to take in the red rocks and take pics. Do lunch. Do a pink Jeep tour or find a trail to hike or drive up 89A for scenic drive. Head back late afternoon.
