I am a conservative with a libertarian lean. But I understand the intent here though I don't see how it could be adequately implemented. It's a fumbling attempt to offer parents a way to try to control their children's social media presence like ID laws for buying alcohol. Unlike an ID check for purchasing alcohol, there are no criteria for deciding who you have to check. Do they look under 30? Don't know, can't see them. How will a social media site know if the person signing up is 16 or 61 other than them being honest? Which a 15-year-old sneaking onto social media is not going to be. So it is a pointless law. So now they will be asking for your personal information? That I don't like. It seems like a law doomed to failure.
