I'd love to nothing more than to be wrong on this one and see a team finally do what's best for themselves and not send a star player only to the team he wants to go to.

While that is idealistic and would be nice to see, the problem is the team trading for Dame.

If I'm trading for a player that is going to cost me a ton of assets and cap space, I'm going to make damn sure he wants to play for my team first. Nothing worse than getting a player that will become a locker room cancer since he doesn't want to be there.

That’s the frame of mind that has the nba in this shite position to deal with. Nobody has a spine.

Dame is on a 5 year deal. He needs to grow up.

These frickin asshats trying to get themselves to one specific destination by issuing threats to attempt to dilute their trade market is trash and it needs to end.

It keeps working, so these players keep doing it. The owners need to put a foot down eventually. You can’t let the inmates continue to run the asylum. It’s ultimately really bad business for 85% of the teams in this league and it leads to a severe competitive imbalance that can only be countered by drafting Giannis at 15 or Jokic at 42.
