For those of you that have never hung around recruits, a teams bad performance isn't necessarily a "bad thing" when recruiting someone. It actually tends to help with the recruitment of certain players because it is much easier to sell them on the idea of early playing time.
Same is true for all of the big schools like Ohio State, LSU, Florida (all the places that have are really equal in terms of atmospheres and tradition to begin with ... schools that are obviously in the hunt for titles on a year-in-year-out basis)
