1. Ok walk me through this. What other options do we have at center (besides Robbins, Matkovich, Vet min) if we don’t trade Val/ Nance? The answer is none. We have no money.
2. Jaxson WAS NOT going to sign a minimum contract for us. He was always going to the Lakers on a minimum contract. Why don’t people see this. “We could have had Jax for 2mil” No we couldn’t have…. He only signed that deal specifically for the Lakers.
3. We have had Jax for 4 WHOLE YEARS and he has been UNPLAYABLE and now all of the sudden that he’s gone several people are all “why did we let him go” “he could be the answer”.
What the hell are y’all smoking.
4. There is not 1 piece of information showing that we wanted Jax and offered him a deal and there’s not 1 piece of information saying that Jax tried to work out a deal to stay here.
Jax doesn’t want to be here and both the fans and front office don’t want him here. There’s maybe 5 people in the whole world that are still somehow confused/ upset he isn’t going to be on our roster going forward.

6th best defense in the NBA last season.
Fools gold shell, if you think that Pels paint and PnR play (winning numbers) had significant influence on that rating. Coach Green and Collins had Pels playing really good team defense with heavy switching, but a deeper dive into paint numbers like opponents FG% show where Pels weaknesses lies. When Val plays he provides interior presence but teams target him by bringing him out to the perimeter and exploiting his slow feet. This is why Coach Green used Nance so much at the pivot. Problem with Nance is that he’s an undersized pivot and usually paired him with an undersized 4. It was easy money to post and crash the boards, particularly at high leverage moments. Sort of like a good boxer with a suspect midsection … Looks great against also rans, but against other good boxers they wear down from body blows and eventually get got.

Chiming in to say the obvious…but a healthy Zion fixes a lot of these issues. If nothing else he allows the team to build large leads, and then opponents rely on the 3 ball instead of hunting JV in the PnR.

For sure, but he and a hopefully stronger TM3 have to take a leap defensively (in the paint) if the goal is contention. Someone has to do dirty work ala Gordon from the Nuggets whose value was shown in the playoffs along side the Joker. That’s why I was high on Stewart from Detroit.

Fools gold shell
A metric used over 82 games isn't fools gold. If the pels kept the roster the same and improved rim protection we'd have the best defense in the league.
You seem to forget a lot of our defense went from elite to average when Dyson and yep, I'll say it, Zion went down.
The only true negative defender we have that plays heavy minutes is Trey. CJ isn't great but he's serviceable.
