Jay Johnson and Paul Mainieri still talk to this day about how their CWS Championship Series losses still haunt them.

2017 was specifically difficult because of all the upperclassman that came back for their last season together to try to win it all. To come up just short of that will stay with you for a long long time.

Instead of mocking the guy, maybe try to feel good for him that this championship gives him a little peace and puts the disappointment from 2017 to bed, even if just a little bit.

Agreed. Not really seeing where the criticism is coming from after watching the video. Clearly a guy who then and now cares a lot about lsu baseball. Had he gone and been all over the camera these same people would have been all over him for stealing the spotlight.

And Walkers injury … and the slide out of the baseline to kill the rally in Game 2.

All of that is haunting and “what if” so I can get why it’s still hard. Honestly for Paul and Kramer I bet this team winning it all gives them a little bit of peace and will help them move on
