Doesn't that go both ways though?

How many divorce threads have we seen on this board alone where it was clear to everyone else but the OP that the woman they married wasn't "marriage material"?

I think the larger issue is people go into relationships thinking they're going to change someone. Or they'll "settle down".

One side thinks things will stay static forever, the other side wants to change someone completely.

Very rarely do people actually change, in my experience. Like you imply, that quickly creates disillusioned people who aren’t likely to have a successful marriage.

The worst part is that people learn this too late. Even if they’re told before the marriage, they generally don’t believe it.
