I hate UBI and all it's implications.
But it's going to be the best solution we have.
The problem is we are going to have to tax away a lot of the productivity gains from corporations to pay for it.
Or just accelerate the bankrupting of the nation.
We're going to choose the latter.

We've already chosen the latter, just not in a conscious, informed fashion. We've done it in a lazy, "got manipulated by the man" fashion.

It's going to end up like the Roman Empire. The Grain or Corn Dole, Circuses, and it will end the same way at a greatly accelerated pace. At least they got 500 years out of it. We will be lucky to get 320 years before the fall.
