My dryer vent is a 25-30' straight run up thru the roof so I don't have some of the obstacles most have but still thinking

To answer your original question though, it definitely worked. I'm sure when i lost the brush it was because i'm a dumbass. With a straight run you may not have any of the problems i had. My issues were mostly because it was the old flex tube, too many turns and stepped on in areas from previous owners...it was a mess.
