Really the only downside to holding Skenes is you aren't really sure that you will get the starter Skenes in a reliever role....how will he react to basically being cool then having to heat up quick (relative to heating up for a start) to come in in relief. That's to me is the unknown and the biggest cause for concern.

Will be odd to see Skenes trot down to the bullpen in RF, not going to lie.

I think if you’re going to do this what I would do is tell him to follow his normal starter routine. Game starts at 7:30 (or whatever time the 5th/6th inning would start). Piece it together to then. Have him come in to start the 6th and tell him to go win us a national championship.
