Prime Tyson? He was 24 years old when he got knocked out by Buster Douglas. He was the champion for only 4 years. That had to be the shortest prime in the history of boxing.
Cus had died and he fired Rooney. He showed up in Tokyo overweight with his entourage in his corner. He then went to prison after that. Before that fight he was the greatest heavyweight of all time.

Fellows, we have a true boxing historian here.
For Tyson, fighting Michael Spinks or Cassius Clay, not much difference. I am sure Clay would be frozen with fear.
Joe Louis, Foreman, Liston, Lewis, et all, no problem for Iron Mike with his incredible stamina and mental strength in the face of adversity.

Buster was a fair boxer. Fair. Muhammad Ali was the greatest boxer in the heavyweight division ever. He would have destroyed his timing with a left jab and simply danced away. Then he starts putting the right cross behind that jab in a nano-second. We could ask Liston, Foreman, Shavers, how that feels.
And by the way, a 24-year-old Tyson must fight a 24-year-old Ali. When he would and could dance all night.

I agree with this and was going to post something similar. With cus and Rooney coaching Tyson had more discipline. He threw more combinations and his head movement was awesome. After he fired Rooney, he surrounded himself with yes men. He quit moving and went for the knockout punch.
But a prime Tyson with cus coaching him would be tough to beat. If prime Ali weathered the first couple of rounds, Ali wins.
