Looks like Kelly realizes he doesn't have to press and waste resources star chasing receivers from out of state. The culture of Louisiana football means some kids won't come up on the radar until late. We got one kid that's played basketball most of his life and one that was hidden on a team that runs veer 90% of the time.
Of the 3 major out of state targets we're after, 2 of them are from the Houston area and one is a special request by your stud QB committ. In the past we would have chased a bunch of 5* receivers who called LSU their dream school at camp once only to end up missing and having to sign lower ranked guys from Louisiana who end up better than the out of state guys anyway.
We've had a lot more buzz with front 7 guys across the country than in the past and less with the skill guys. It might not seem like it makes much difference but being able to focus only on certain positions when you have to go national appears to be paying off.
