Way behind on this as a homeowner but looking to get a Fire and Water proof safe for the house. Not looking for a large vault or gun safe, just something I can put cash, documents, valuables in and keep in our closet.
Amazon has this Honeywell one on sale for $70 which seems like a good deal.

What is everyone using here? Also, what do you do for mold prevention - silica packets?

That doesn’t look like a terrible solution. I ended up just buying some 2 gallon ziplocks to put important paperwork in a fireproof safe for now.

Burglars love it when you put all the good stuff in an easy to carry container

Well, it weighs 80 pounds so not exactly easy to move.
Also looking mainly for safekeeping of documents. Got insurance for the other stuff.

Google fireproof document bags, there are tons of options. Loksak/Opsak makes heavy duty water proof ziplock style bags. Cash and important docs go in these bags, then inside a safe. A safe alone likely will not protect from water damage/smoke damage.
