the money isn't so she can continue a life of luxury. It's so she can make a new home for her kids in the life THEY are accustomed.

250 is probably too much. lawyers always ask for more than what they know they will settle on.

outside looking in, Kevin Costner is the bad guy. he is buying a lot of negative press by trying to put the screws to his wife and hurting the kids in the process.
