To all the Sub guys out there. Can the Navy get a DSRV on scene before the 72hr clock runs out.

In a word, no. The main Navy DSRV is staged in San Diego. I’m not sure if there’s one on the East Coast.

Regardless, not enough time to arrive and get on bottom.

Yes, issue is the hatch sizes aren’t compatible. No way to mate DSRV to the submersible

We don’t have a DSRV rated for that depth. Even if we did, it’s designed to sit down on a hatch that can be opened. The people in this contraption are bolted in from the outside.
