Correct. Money or wealth is no longer a good filter. You need cultural related rules that keep the riff raff out.

If not you'll have a bunch of spike haired dudes smoking meth on the course.

Yep.

I've played at expensive clubs, and what should be really nice clubs that don't have (or at least enforce) strict decorum rules. While I haven't seen anyone smoking meth on the course, I have seen tatted up meat-heads in tight "performance" polos and goofy patterned shorts ending about 4 inches below their knees driving around the course acting like a bunch of obnoxious douchebags blaring terrible music from the cart like they were in a ski boat at Crab Island.

Don't get me wrong. These guys have probably done really well in blue-collar industries and have the money necessary to become a member. But that money doesn't equal "class". So if class is what you are aiming for in your club, just having an expensive buy in and membership fees is not enough. If money is the only barrier, then you have to be willing to accept people from many different lifestyles have money today.
