Unless it's a big box store, don't be afraid to make them an offer.

I went to a local furniture supplier and found an all leather chair, very high quality. All metal, no plastic. They were asking $830. I made a cash offer- no PO.

Think I paid saved about $150.

Our contract price was a lot higher. Best chair I've ever owned.
