If salaried I 100% agree. If they are hourly or bill clients by hours, we’ll they aren’t working

I agree with your sentiment. The business end of that is bosses will just get rid of someone and hand that work to someone else. It's no longer about the value a person brings to the org, it's how much that person costs. Simple economics.

And if they are not? And there are always tasks that could be done but aren’t essential right away but they start to slip through the cracks. I gave up a hybrid job where most people are working remote to a full office job because I didn’t have the discipline to work from home plus I need the social interaction.
