In this case, those closer to the time of their “victory” (and in a lot of cases who actually had a direct hand in bringing forth the victory) were actually onboard out such commemorations of their “vanquished.”

Yes, it was certainly a rather peculiar, but I would contend, quite interesting aspect of American history and overall “Cultural Americana.”

Where exactly were those now choosing to ease such vestiges gallantly victorious?
