See if they will do a package. I started out playing last year and got lessons a few months in. You will probably start with fundamentals (grip, alignment) and then move on to more specific things depending on your swing. You will most likely do a little worse after each lesson as you integrate things, then see improvement a couple weeks later as they become habits. Definitely get a lot of range time after your lessons if possible.
