Have QB desktop since '98 I think. Wanted to go multiple users in real time so went QB cloud. OMG this thing is the worst POS ever. So incredibly clunky.

One of many examples: sitting down to make a bunch of invoices. On desktop you choose customer and the blank form appears, along with a list of recent invoices, open balance, notes we've made, etc. Online has nothing. We have to close the invoice w/o saving go to customer list, open that customer, find the data we want, write it down on paper, the start on the invoice fresh.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

If there is anything that operates better that can take a QB backup I'd love to know.

I could not imagine my life without QB online. That said, there are many alternatives.

My mom uses Freshbooks and loves it.

Let me know if you find one. I cannot stand QBO.

Desktop is way better as far as what you can do with it and just feels way smoother than QBO. It is to the point though that you might as well do QBO because you are paying a subscription no matter what and if you have to do that, I'm just going to go with the one that I don't have to remote into a client's computer/server for.
