You presented it as if it was an additional item that was somehow different from having the top two draft picks on the roster. The two points are exactly the same. LSU has the two best players in college baseball, but that isn’t necessarily the same as having the best roster or the most talent overall. They are the best offensive team in the country, but they have struggled to fill the holes caused by injury in the bullpen and third starter roles. There are hopeful signs of late, but I would hardly describe the season as a failure if lack of pitching depth keeps them from the title.
