Serious question.. why was he found responsible for the date’s meal?

I mean obviously is customary to pay for the date. It’s more of a gentlemen or nice thing to do, even if you’re not interested. But which law says you have to?

It's not customary on the dating apps. A lot of chicks get a bunch of matches then want to "go out for drinks" with every one of them for free bar tabs, the hell with that. That's why the second date is when it goes back to traditional
