Those I’ve seen who stay active and keep their mind challenged seem to have more success. Once people lose a purpose they go down hill quick

This, my grandparents have essentially spent the past 20 years holed up inside their house and it's very, very bleak for them now. No one will admit they need to be placed in assisted living, so we just watch my parents, uncles, and aunts pretend that the made up stories they hear every week are perfectly normal.

I get asked when I'm heading back to UGA every time I see them, and I'm almost 29. Absolutely heartbreaking.

100%

Grandfather is 81. Was playing golf 2 days a week before he broke his ankle while hunting. Took about 6 months to recover and never got back into it. Went downhill fast( injury around was around 78). His older brother is 84, still rides bikes, works out, and he used to be a pharmacist. Volunteers at charity pharmacy one weekend a month. Still sharp and can go about doing what he wants still.

The term use it or lose it applies to life
