We had one break into our attic and have 4 babies. With the help of a game camera and old baby monitor, we were able to track it while attempting to trap it. Multiple pest control "experts" involved. That thing knew every trick they threw at it. They confessed that they must release the racoon, but that they release it like 30 miles away in the state forest, because they are smart and will find their way back. They believed the one in my attic had been caught and released into the state forest across the highway from me. So now it understood the traps and was to bright to fall for it twice.

It took a month and we never caught it. We just caught the 3 of the 4 babies (two fell through the ceiling vent and were caught by hand) and it left on its own after that. Took nearly a month and THOUSANDS in costs and damage.

Makes a turd on top of your pool cage seem minor.

I HATE racoons now . Funny thing is about 3 weeks later, we see a varmint control vehicle parked at a house down the street. Would not be surprised if that same coon didn't set up shop in a house a half mile away.
