The issue is that you didn’t really improve your chances of beating Tulane while you greatly lowered your chances of winning game 2 vs OSU or SH. It’s about winning two games. Because 1-1 in those first two game with the winning coming first or second gets you in the exact same position. So there really isn’t any advantage to throwing Skenes game 1. None. The advantage comes from throwing him game 2. It’s analytical. Jay felt game 1 was more important. Idk why. It’s a preference for him. I disagree and most do.
