As a parent whose kid came out as gay, it is hard sometimes, even if you are totally accepting of gays and of them. There’s a loss involved. A loss of the life and milestones you thought you would have (marriage, babies, traditional lifestyle, etc.) There’s confusion as to how to proceed in some areas. How to give them advice when you don’t know much about that world. And also there is discrimination, especially if they come out before graduating high school. Other kids’ parents may not let them come over anymore. Teachers at school act differently. To say a parent is a POS for being upset is pretty narrow-minded. Give the guy a break. I think he was trying to be funny about the situation.
