Yes they ran this completely dishonest headline. But it gets worse. Here’s the title within the story:

“Disagrees with decision to honor Sisters”

How completely disingenuous can you possibly be. Oh more? Well here is how they describe the group:

quote:

The Sisters, a group of mainly men who dress as nuns, is a charity, protest and performance group founded in 1979 in San Francisco. Its Los Angeles chapter will receive the Community Hero Award.

The group denied it was anti-Catholic. On its website, the group said it uses "humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit."

This is the group of gay men that dress one as Jesus, hang him on a cross and then felate him as a form of performance art. You know, just irreverent and not all anti-catholic.

Funny how the media decides that this is "honoring" instead of a hate crime.

frick them. It's a desecration of Catholicism. The real headline should be;

quote:

Dodgers decision to disrespect Catholics

He has the right to disagree! And I am glad he spoke up.

The whole thing is just stupid. People dress up as parodies of nuns because the Catholic Church is something that at least some people actually care about. It’s had enough of a presence in Western culture for long enough that everyone knows its visual depiction and can recognize a parody. On the other hand, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is not something that I can imagine anyone caring deeply about. They are just one more form of trivial entertainment among thousands that can, at best, provide a few moments of titillation to those who are into that sort of thing. People aren’t casting off the yoke of Catholic repression to finally take up the true and the noble and the good life. They are trading wine for Kool-Aid.

Dayum, never heard of that one before. Where's the link? That has to be exposed.

100% with Kershaw on this. They sound like a hate group. Just because they claim they are not doesn’t make it okay to give them a platform. The Proud Boys claim they aren’t a hate group either. Why not invite them if they want to go down this rabbit hole.
