I have one that is lightly used. I never had any problems, it works perfectly and is accurate.

One of the problems they have is that the bolt head will eat up the receiver because it is made of softer steel than the bolt. Once the rail is worn enough the bolt will jam itself and lock up. At that point it is a parts gun or wall hanger, but I've read where some close off the gas system and make it a straight pull single shot.

Most advise to shoot it very lightly and don't pound out hundreds of rounds at the range. Another route (I've done this) is to create some light loads that is easy on the action. Hornady makes a custom lite round but it is hard to find. The light load will make your 30-06 a little more like a 30-30 but it will still kill deer close in, it is more comfortable to shoot, and it will last.
