Your friend lied to you. How do people not know that the Ivy League schools don’t offer athletic scholarships? It’s what set them apart from the rest of D1. Yes I too have met many a proud parent who has told me that their ultra athletic and uber smart student was being recruited to play at Harvard on a full sports scholarship ride. I gently congratulated them, knowing they were making the whole thing up.
