I guess they left out the whole rape thing in the GA territory or otherwise his family members wouldn't appear? Because otherwise it would be inexcusable to omit that.

I’m sure the reasoning is “he fricked up in enough ways we couldn’t cover them all in 45 minutes.”
For a guy as good as we was in the ring, he didn’t have much “mainstream” success in part because he was so unstable and would get fired so quickly.

I mean this wasn't a case of a ring rat who happened to be underage, it was straight up forcible rape even if she had been 18+. Georgia was arguably the #2 territory at the time and he was getting a monster push.

Ok wasn’t quite familiar with the specifics here.
I thought it was more a straight stat rape case like Art Barr in Portland.

Art Barr's wasn't like that either. He's another rapist POS and even admitted to it. "Well she would've consented if we were in a better location."

Watching the JYD episode now.
The biggest departure from reality I am seeing is giving Bill Watts credit for hiring him to WCW. Pretty sure Ole hired him as part of a push to hire a ton of his guys like Paul Orndorff.
Not that Watts wouldn’t have hired him but he wasn’t the one who did it.

Did they talk about JYD's son supposedly dying in a pool accident in the 80s? Beau James has mentioned that several times on his various podcast appearances but I haven't found anything corroborating.

I’m about 3/4 through and they didn’t cover that yet. They covered his daughter being born during the blinding angle and are covering his death after missing her graduation where I am now.

That wasn’t part of the episode.
People who appeared on camera included Cornette, Jim Ross, Koko B Ware, Tony Atlas, Teddy Long, Ted Dibiase, Hacksaw Duggan, and JYD’a nephew.
