to do this right you need a pro like a home energy expert. Someone that can come in and do blower door tests, duct leakage tests and IR camera testing and find out where the leaks are in the house.

I had this done a few years ago, and they wanted $7000 to do the work. Seemed steep, but at this point, I'd pay it for comfort. But I did spend almost $20k on a new HVAC, furnace, and ductwork back in 2021.

Here's what they installed for the HVAC for a 2100 square foot, single story home:

4 ton 14 SEER horizontal evaporator coil in crawlspace
Zone module with two dampers and one static damper
Second thermostat

Not sure what the CFM output is or how to check that.

4-ton seems on the high side for 2100sqft. If it is oversized, it can very well contribute to the problem. If that is indeed sized properly than you have a leaky house which is letting in a lot of unconditioned air.

You can check the CFM output setting at the control board of the blower unless it is a communicating system. If it is a communicating system you can find the settings within the main t-stat.

Is that 4-ton unit 2-stage?
