UMPs everywhere are calling tight zones. If you're leaning on a change of scenery from umpires to help our pitching staff... good luck
Do you have the stats on BB/9 from other conferences to support that position?

So, I decided to do the work for you. The ACC averages 8.90 BB/9 combined for both teams in conference games. The SEC averages 10.05, almost 13% higher. SEC teams average giving up 4.01 BB/9 in non-conference games, while ACC team average 3.85 BB/9 or only a 4% difference. There is more inflation of walk totals in the SEC than the ACC by a pretty good margin.
