You have guys that can’t throw strike and when they have to throw them they have to be over the middle because that is what happens when you can’t a first pitch strike. You don’t know baseball if you can’t understand that lead off walks probably score 60% of the time. It is definitely >50%.
What has happened is Wes Johnson has them nibbling and that why don’t have the command to nibble. Secondly, the strike zone has tightened to the point that team ERAs ACROSS THE SEC IS IN THE MID 5s! That is gorilla ball stats.
As Jay Johnson stated recently, ”this game about balls and strikes”. People on here focus on hitting WAY too much. .280 hitting teams with the ability to grind out ABs and steal bases and bunt do get to Omaha on a regular basis. The pitcher WILL ALWAYS have control of a game. That fact will never change.
