I wouldn't say she can't sing. She is no Whitney Houston.. That other girl.. Christian Aggalera? (i fricked up the spelling) was a much better singer, but she could see good enough to market to a bunch of teenagers. And then she was able to keep her fan base while still appealing to teenagers.

Its not about having the best singer, its about having someone who can sing pretty good who can be marketed. Boy bands are the perfect example. I forgot the dudes name but he decided to invest in a boy band. He held rehearsals and picked the boys who could sing pretty good, but most of all had appeal. And they were loved by every teenager in the world.
