I’m a doctor, dumbass. A thrombus is a clot. Most strokes are caused by high blood pressure either causing a narrowed/occluded vessel due to thrombus formation (ischemic stroke) or through rupture of a tiny vessel (hemorrhagic stroke).

You’re talking about an embolism stroke where clotted blood (thrombus, moron) is in the right atrium and breaks off and goes to the brain. Much less common cause of stroke.

Embolic strokes are similar in mechanism to pulmonary embolism caused by a deep vein THROMBOSIS (clot). Where a large thrombus breaks off from a deep in in the legs or arms and goes into the pulmonary artery, causing a PE.
