I've been forcing myself to explore areas that Hero's Path indicates that I haven't visited yet. I've discovered a couple of Taluses up in the NW mountains that I hadn't found before.

I tried this on my 2nd botw playthrough. While it's a not a big deal earlier on in the game it became a really big hassle and I had to start fast traveling.
