Nobody wants to build affordable cars for Americans. They want that high end profitability. When Jeep and Kia started considering themselves a luxury brand is when I realized this shift.

If you’re poor, better settle for that Altima

High interest rates are the best thing that could have happened to the American car buyer. Why be responsible and stay within your means when you can get a car loan for 120 months so you can get a $100k pickup?

Was out of the market for a good while. Started looking around and was shocked that people were paying 50+ for the Kia SUV.

That would be a big mistake- Nissan makes shitty cars today, especially the Altima & Rogue. That CVT transmission has been a nightmare for years, yet Nissan still uses it even though it has never been corrected!

There's a reason I still drive my 2001 Silverado that I bought in 2004.

The AC went out a few years ago but I only drive it to work and back, around town and the occasional trip to Lowe's or Atwood's. She's rough around the edges now, 220k miles, but that's not bad for her age. I've had to replace the entirety of the front end, two starters, two alternators, water pump, and then battery and tires a few times but that's it.

My payment? 0$/month. Price a new 4 door V8 pickup, and you'll understand exactly why I drive the old girl still. I'd have to pay more than what I pay on my monthly mortgage just to get into a 2020+ Silverado. No thanks.
