this team isn’t sniffing omaha baw. need to learn how to throw strike and play defense. sadly it’s too late in the year to fix those major impediments

We MAY drop out of #1, but we're still gonna be top 4 easy. Probably no lower than #2. Will win our home series against Miss State, very likely win the series at UGA. We lost a road series against a mid-tier SEC team, that made it to Omaha last year.
You stay top 8, you stay as host for both Regional and Super Regional play. Playing at home gives us a big advantage, being the 1 seed in a regional means you play a #4 seed game one, that we can win without throwing Skenes. We then face the second best team without their ace, against Skenes. So very likely we make it through the regional.
Super Regional is a 3 game series; it will be at the Box, against a team no better than what we've faced in the SEC; say Kentucky, Bama, Tennessee level. We also very likely take that, just as we did beat those teams at home.
First weekend of Omaha becomes the challenge. You can't hide your pitchers against anyone. Skenes wins his game, we still likely take 1 of 2 with the rest of our weekend rotation. But starting with game 4 of that, we're gonna be very challenged, and will need all the bats to win slugfests.
If we make it out of that, to the Finals, it's a 3 game series again. I think the strategy then is to play for a sweep.
Without Skenes, you don't have the arms to try to win 2 games against a top team. So you don't bother trying, you pitch everyone to win one of them, and trust Skenes to get the other.
