I’ve never heard that one but that’s very interesting if true.

Given rich rod was/is true spread option not air raid spread he would have fit a lot of what dinardo wanted to do just doing it in a different formation

Rich begged for weeks, on WWL Sports talk, to be hired and Dinardo ignored his pleading.

After Dinardo was fired some reporter asked him about not hiring Rodriguez.
Dinardo said, he ran a different offense than I. If I had hired him, he installed his offense, then left. I wouldn't know how to run it.
Some folks are just afraid to change.
Lew Tepper, and the H School coach he hired to run his offense, were his undoing.
He brought some good coaches when he came to BR. He ran them off and replaced them with inept individuals.
