The Braves' fanbase wouldn't hurt a Nashville or Charlotte expansion team.
The Braves are the dominant fan base, but there are plenty of transplants that aren't Braves fans. They will go enjoy games, even if plenty are rooting for the away team at first.
It takes most expansion teams a while (or forever for the Rays) to establish their own fans.

Not at all. I don’t get why people are so adamant about this. Braves country isn’t some impenetrable barrier. The fact it’s so big just shows how underserved the region is. Personally, I’d put a team in both. They’ll have better fans than any of the cities out west.
And if it was Austin/SA I’d say the same thing. They might root for the Astros now, but that would change.
