Since the Yankees last title in 2009, these things have happened:

-- Their most hated rivals, the Red Sox, have won TWO World Series.

-- Their hated crosstown rival Mets have played in one.

-- The Giants, one of the crappiest franchises around, have won THREE World Series.

-- The Royals, even crappier than the Giants, have won one.

-- The team that Montreal didn't want and escaped to DC won one.

-- Even the Cubs figured out how to win one.

-- The Astros have won TWICE and made the Yankees their personal post-season bitch along the way

--And these poverty franchises not listed above have made the World Series more recently than the Yankees:

Tampa
Cleveland
Detroit
Texas

Also, a person in the US who is 22 years old has only been alive for ONE of those "rings". That is roughly 30% of the people in this country who DGAF


TLDR: The Yankees and their fans can take the "27 ring" bullshite and blow it out their arse. Nobody cares and it isn't relevant.
