There was no fifth year option for Williams, he wasn’t a 1st rounder. He did play a year under the franchise tag and got a $70 mil deal tho
That they didn't want to give ruiz 14 mil guaranteed for a 1 year deal.
If they don't come to terms on a contract after picking up the option, they would be on the hook for that.
If they wouldn't give Marcus Williams 14 mil for 1 yr, no way in he'll they would do it for ruiz.
