I remember that game, they wore white helmets. Rondell Mealy was the RB.

Moronic Tech fan. He thought LA Tech should have been in the Indy Bowl over LSU that year.

Tech would have rolled LSU that year. Glad we didn't have to play them.

That is funny. Just the other day I was talking to someone b/c we knew the game was gonna be cold this weekend. They asked what was the coldest LSU I had been to. And I name that game as one. I mentioned the guy in the thong b/c I am sure he was with some buddies and probably could not leave and therefore froze his balls off outside the stadium.

Not possible.
The Independence Bowl has a contract and is now a bowl for SEC and Little 12 teams only, if i am not mistaken!
Since 1998 the game has normally featured a matchup between teams representing the Big 12 Conference and the SEC. Teams from other conferences are included only if one of those leagues does not have enough bowl-eligible teams to fill its spot, such as in 2004 when Miami (Ohio) played instead of an SEC squad. In 2008 and 2009, should neither conference fulfill full agreements, a Sun Belt Conference team - provided that they are bowl eligible - will be their replacement.

Wasn't that the game that started Notre Dame's 868-straight bowl game losing streak?

Nope. The last time ND won a bowl game, the game's MVP was Jerome Bettis.

I like the Peach against Florida State. Miles has already beaten 7 coaches with rings and Dadgummit could become the eighth.
