He gave me my first "adult" job and that's probably the least of what he did for me or anyone else.

There's a tree I helped my father plant on campus many years ago in honor of Bro. Ray's own father after his passing. Looks like I need to go get one more to plant.

A couple happy memories:
-Him literally jumping up and down next to Bro. Ken as we beat Covington High in football for the first time in quite some time (Bro. Ray held his emotions, especially regarding sports, well in check). St Paul's has since done better than just that in football, but it was more meaningful back then and his joy was unmistakable.

-"Pip's Moral Decline" and basically teaching me what literature was capable of.

Thanks Brother, we'll miss you.

I’ll never forget this exchange with Bro Ray.

I was in his class freshman year and played on our golf team. It went something like this.

“Brother, I forgot my assignment can I bring it to you first thing tomorrow morning.”

“Sure ——, but I doubt you forgot your golf clubs for the match this afternoon.”

I’m such a subtle way that did not involve him being rude or a disciplinarian, he reminded me to get my priorities right and make sure my business is handled. He let me skip assignment hall and go play for the Wolves that afternoon, a real awesome man. That moment stays with me to this day as I’ll sometimes think about it when I “forget my assignment.”
