Thats a little much I got a 12k btu unit installed for 3K by a AC guy and I thought I paid too much. The Mr. Cool's are supposed to be really good. Check them out.

Surprised mini splits are so uncommon still for installers. Seems like in larger metro areas a small guy could start a company specializing in them and do very well. It’s a very simple process for the most part.
